Untranslatable Words Project


In 2023, I carried out a small research project as part of my Culham St Gabriel's Leadership Programme.  Inspired by the work of Dr Tim Lomas around untranslatable words, I created a very simple 'tool for thinking' with the phrases old friends and mysterious strangers.  Pupils from ages 7 to 14 used the phrases to playfully describe the words they encounter in RE lessons.  


I presented about my research at the Strictly RE Conference 2024 and wrote an article for the Professional Reflection section in the Spring 2024 RE Today magazine. You can read the article here.
